The Lyric Operator’s Checklist For Successful Services

Without church lyric operators, Sunday services sure wouldn’t be the same. Their role is undeniably crucial for smoother worship and deeper learning. And that’s exactly why careful preparation is key. It’s true, the job position doesn’t come with much (or often, any) praise, but God is extra pleased with His servants who don’t do it for their own glory.

Ahead are a handful of valuable tips and reminders from ministry veteran Kendall Connor for all you lyric operators. They range from tips for the days leading up to Sunday – such as listening to the full worship set to get familiar with the songs and looking over the sermon notes to help you anticipate the flow of your pastor’s sermon –  to tips for the day of Sunday – such as testing all media before the service starts and of course, prayer!
